EWP Launches Search for New Artistic Director & Managing Director

East West Players (EWP) the nation’s longest-running Asian American theater and the largest producer of Asian American theatrical works launches the search for its new Artistic Director and Managing Director. Snehal Desai, the historic company’s most recent Producing Artistic Director, announced his departure from East West Players to become the next artistic director at Center Theatre Group this past April. Desai served as the Producing Artistic Director of East West Players for seven years, preceded by Tim Dang, Nobu McCarthy, and the Founding Artistic Director of East West Players Mako.

East West Players works with Tom O’Connor Consulting Group to find its next Artistic Director. Glick Davis & Associates leads the search for the next Managing Director.

Under Board leadership, East West Players is building a new organizational structure designed to support an expansive company future through a coleadership model. Searches for the new Artistic Director and Managing Director run concurrently, with both positions reporting to the Board. With this model, new to East West Players, the Artistic Director and Managing Director will share responsibility for and rely on their partnership for the company's success, while bringing complementary skills and experiences that will allow each to focus more fully on their unique areas of operations.
