East West Players publicly acknowledges the pain that is coursing through the veins of this country and welling up in our hearts. Today, we stand in solidarity with our Black brothers and sisters as they have stood by us and acknowledge that for them this threat of violence is, and has been, unrelenting and constant.

Let us grieve together, let us speak out together, and let us lift each other up. Let us do so safely, however let us not be distracted from the issue at hand – the injustice and the violence that is inflicted daily on Black lives in this country.

Though the cycle of oppression of communities of color in this country did not start with us, our hope is that it ends with us.
