PARTNERS IN EDUCATION AND ARTS COLLABORATION (PEACE)

Promotional Video for PEAC, Edited by Gabriela Hernandez

PEAC is a residency program which brings the performing arts to schools who do not have funding for arts education. This after school program is conducted for two hours on a weekly basis by professional actors leading 18 seventh graders through a series of theatrical exercises which are designed to give students a basic foundation of theatre skills.

The goals of PEAC are to improve class participation, raise achievement in social studies and to increase English language proficiency.  Its overarching aim is to instill a sense of understanding and pride in each student of his or her own cultural heritage and those of other ethnicities.  PEAC also hopes to show a positive correlation between the Arts and academics.

If you are an educator and are interested in having Partners in Education and Arts Collaboration come to your school, please contact EWP Arts Education Director, Marilyn Tokuda at (213)625-7000, ext. 15 or mtokuda@eastwestplayers.org.
