BOARD PROFILE
HON. ROBERT M. KAWAHARA
Hon. Robert M. Kawahara has been a Los Angeles
Superior Court Commissioner since 2002. Prior to this esteemed public
appointment, Robert managed his own law practice specializing in civil
litigation, which includes personal injury, family law, business
litigation, debt collection, and landlord-tenant matters. He first served
as a board member from the 1984 through 1995 and returned to serve in
2000. Robert is also a past-president and current board member of Cold
Tofu. In 1988, he served as president of the Japanese American Bar
Association and is current president of the California Court Commissioners
Association. Robert received his BA from UCLA (1977) and his JD (law
degree) from the University of San Francisco (1980). He is a die-hard UCLA
